Happy New Year, everyone!

I have a hard time facing the fact that little Scarlett is already a whole year old. But you know what 1-year-old birthdays mean? Cake. And smashing cakes, of course!

Before I get to the adorable photos I know you came here for, I have to share pictures from baby Scarlett’s previous milestone sessions. I cannot believe how fast the time has gone!

And that, my friends, brings us to her 1-year smash the cake photos. Before we brought out the cake (courtesy of Dorene’s Creative Cakes) we did a few holiday images with mom. And as you can see, Scarlett didn’t enjoy her smash the cake session as much as we did, but her images are just so stinkin’ adorable! You do not want to miss these pictures. Check them out below!

Let’s get straight to the good stuff!

I recently had an awesome session with Heather & Derek and their charming newborn, Mr. Alexander…or as they affectionately call him, Xander.

This session was special because I was able to photograph this little guy in so many different sets… with some for Christmas (as he arrived a few weeks before)! Most of these props I hadn’t tried out before. And, it goes without saying, I was really excited to have such a sweet boy in the studio!

Xander was radiating cuteness and as you can see from the pictures, the colors used in this session really helped bring out the soft tone of his skin. It was so hard choosing ‘just a few’ favorites of this little guy! See his images below! 🙂

I’m back again with another session featuring the oh-so-lovely Scarlett. I’ve been lucky enough to photograph this little cherub several times now, thanks to my {lullaby year} milestone collection!

Since our last session, Scarlett is already on the move! Her momma sure does have her hands full, now. Speaking of Scarlett’s mom, she did a fabulous job prepping her for this 9 month milestone session. She’s practically a pro at this by now!

Oh how I just adore the family I’m blogging about today. I’m lucky enough to say I’ve been photographing the Perreault family from the very beginning! I truly can’t believe how much the children have grown and changed over the past 6+ years.

Amy & I have been the best of friends since before High School. She is such an amazing person and her husband, Jason, is the perfect man for her!

When Amy told me she wanted to do a few photos in their yard dragging the Christmas tree, I couldn’t stop smiling the rest of the day. What a cute idea!

And as for the day of the session, I had a blast! And I think they had a pretty great time, too.
